Lifestyle - Goal Setting

< back to Lifestyle TOC

Introduction

The goal setting and objectives section is designed to record specific health and wellbeing goals the Subject would like to acheive and the time frame within which to realise them.  This section is accessed via the grey tab in the centre of the screen in the Lifestyle Review section or via the pull down menu from the Lifestyle tab on the top menu bar.

The primary function of this section is for use by health clubs for Subjects to advise their main reason for joining the facility and what they hope to achieve.  This can then be reviewed on a regular basis in consultation between the Subject and the trainer, coach or health consultant to ensure that the goals are being reached and to encourage regular use of the facilities to prevent drop out.  Once achieved new goals can be set and monitored.

The goal setting section can, however, be used in any health program where the health coach or professional wishes to set and regularly review specific goals with the Subject.

The goals are entered via a simple on screen questionnaire which allows for up to three specific goals which might be fitness, diet and stress related or could all be fitness related such as "walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes without stopping" up to "walk 3kms in 30 minutes" and "complete a 5km fun run within 6 months".

Figure 1 shows the start of the questionnaire. This screen records some basic information and background.

Once the goals have been entered and saved they will appear on the screen and can be reviewed and amended at any time by clicking on the link 'Click Here' to set up or amend your goals.  Figure 3 shows the final display.

Note:

Additional Goals cannot be added. The existing goals can be updated - no history of goal setting is recorded.
