Introduction
The Fitech Interface has been designed to display a considerable level of detail related to a subject all in one screen. The result is a screen that has been split into many different zones. Throughout the product, Fitech has tried to be consistent in all areas and loyal to the model displayed in figure 1.
Before detailing each zone, here are some notes about the interface:
- The Interface is designed to fit on to screens of at least 1024 wide by 768 pixels deep. It is possible to run Fitech on lesser screen resolutions but this will cause horizontal and vertical scrolling.
- The interface is best viewed in 32bit or true colour.
- The interface makes use of 'inline frames', 'modal windows' or 'layered' windows. These are all designed to limit technical problems or security settings with browsers, and, crucially, limit scrolling. Fitech will continue to utilise layered windows to improve the user experience and minimise page loading.
- A Fitech page may take a little time to load, this is because 'screens' of data are being loaded into tabs and 'stacked' one on top of each other, to be displayed when the user clicks on a tab. This is a trade off, whilst the inital page takes a little longer to load, moving around the loaded subjects data for a given module is very quick.
- Examples of the above are available by clicking the links below:
- 'inline frames' - please see figure 2.
- 'modal windows' - please figure 3.
- 'layered windows' - please see figure 4.
Interface Zones
The screen capture below dislays the various zones of the Fitech Interface. The number or 'state' of the zones may vary depending upon whether a subject is loaded and the security level of the user that is logged in. For this demonstration, an administrator has logged in and loaded the subject 'Peter Edwards'. This scenario displays all of the zones.
Please refer to the table below for a full description of the interface zones.
