Browser Requirements
< Back to Concepts TOC
- General Requirements to run Fitech are described here. In general all you need is a web browser and an internet connection to run Fitech on your machine. If you are a large corporate that wishes to run Fitech on their own infrastructure, ie the server software and application then you need to contact Fitech Sales at either sales@fitech.com.au or sales@fitech.co.uk depending upon your geographic location.
- At the present time Fitech is only supported on the the following 2 browsers (and versions) only.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) Version 7 builds.
- Mozilla Firefox Version 3 builds
- If you are using any other platform than Microsoft Windows, ie, Apple MAC or Linux, then you should use Mozilla Firefox. Fitech has been successfully run on Ubuntu Linux and Apple MAC OS/10 with Firefox.
- Your browser must also be set to to allow or support the following:
- Javascript
- Cookies
- The browser (especially MSIE) should be set to look for new versions of the pages - See Figure 1.
- On no account will Fitech function correctly without these requirements.

Figure 1 - MSIE Temporary Internet Files & History Settings
- If you are running any other browser (or version) from that stated (ie, Opera, Netscape, MSIE 6, MSIE 5.5 etc) and are having problems, the first thing you should do before contacting Fitech Support is to upgrade to a supported browser.
- MSIE Version 8.0. Microsoft is set to release it's new browser version shortly. We are currently testing Fitech to ensure that it will run correctly on Version 8.0.
- MSIE 8.0 has a 'compatibility' mode built in to it, so it will run Fitech in that mode right now if you have installed the Candidate release or a Beta version, although we'd recommend you use version 7.0 builds.
