After reading this article and deciding to implement a custom front cover, please consider the following:

• By default, the ability to change your front cover is switched off. There are different rules in the UK and AU regarding implementation. You need to contact support@fitechv5.com to have this switched on. You will then see the field to upload your front cover with the other style fields. (header, footer etc...)
• The PDF server component which generates the reports can cache report images for a while, so don't be disappointed if you do not see your front coaver straight away.
• You can make sure that the old report cover isn't cached on your system by deleting your browser cache.
• You may also need to log out and then log back in.
• Lastly, avoid the strain, send your logo, or front cover ideas to support@fitechv5.com and we'll do it for you.

1. There has been some changes to the Report style that Fitech Produces from the end of March 2009. These style changes are customer driven. The new style is far simpler, more modern and uses little or no colour to the fonts.

    

2. The default Front cover has also been updated. The default front cover is the Fitech Front cover. The new style is detailed at figure 1. It is not to scale.

3. From February 2009, it has been possible to customise the front cover of the reports within Fitech, this means, the Lifestyle Reports, Medical, Fitness (Physical), Group Data Analysis can have an alternative Front cover. This offers the Organisation a greater degree in asserting their own brand and report styles. The Front cover is really a large image. Dynamic information from the Fitech database is placed over the top of that image, for example the name of the Subject under test, the test title and so on.

    

4. What you can and cannot change on the Front cover.

    

• You cannot change the position of the overlaid text, ie Subject name etc.
• You cannot remove the very bottom footer text, 'Powered by Fitech - The Fitness Technology Company'
• You can have any amount of graphics / text on your cover as long as they are not in the 'data' area.
• You can have a 'watermark' in the 'data' area if you like, just remember, the darker your watermark, the harder it will be to read the subject data. Figure 3 shows a watermark.
• The report front cover image MUST be either png, jpg or gif. A good quality PNG (portable network graphic) file is recommended.

3. The Image has to be 827 pixels wide by 1169 pixels deep. (This corresponds to A4 Size). The upload process ensures that your image is processed on upload to conform to these dimensions. To ensure that you have maximum quality and present your report to the best of its ability, it is to your advantage to ensure the image you prepare is exactly these dimensions. It will not get distorted on upload.

4. When you are creating your front cover image, you should avoid placing anything in the text area as designated by the green box) on Figure 2. The red boxes show the areas that you can add text or images to.

    

5. Important: It is also possible to upload your own report logo. If you are going to use a custom front cover, a report logo will not be appropriate since you will incorporate this into your new front cover. The logic is therefore the following:

• No modication to the default style, you get the standard Fitech Front Cover
• You elect not to have your own front cover, but you upload a report logo. Your logo will appear bottom left as it previously did on the Fitech Standard report cover.
• You elect to upload your own front cover. Your Report logo will not display.

6. You can see how to upload your images by clicking here. The important thing is not to panic if you don't get your image right the first time you look at a report, you can upload as many times as you like. You may have to use CTRL-F5 to force a hard refresh of your browser to see the new front cover on your PDF reports.
