1. If your organisation uses the Fitech Portal there are a number of customisations that you can make to the look of the application. These are, the modification or replacement of:

    

• The Header Graphic
• The Footer Graphic
• The EMail Header Graphic
• The Report Logo
• Report Front Cover Image
• The PAR-Q Form

 

2. To change any of the above items, you must be an administrator. There is no limit to the number of times that you can adjust these graphics and PAR-Q Form. All you need do is upload a new version.

    

3. Important:- After you have made changes, you may need to shut down your browser and log back in to ensure the new graphics take effect.

    

4. In order to change the default graphics, you should login as an administrator and go to the Administration menu via the cog icon.  Refer Fig 1.

5. Then click the 'Manage Organisation' Link (first in the list), Then click the 'Manage Style / ParQ' Tab to review the graphics.  Refer figure 2.

6. The interface shows the current graphics or the default graphics depending upon the whether custom graphics have been previously uploaded. To upload new graphics, all the administrator has to do is use the 'browse' buttons on the file fields to navigate to their graphics that they wish to upload for the header, footer, email header, report front cover and report logo. Files must be 1500kb or less. The following file types are allowable:

    

• PNG
• JPG
• GIF

 

7. The interface offers some mouseover help and a preview of the graphic which you can see by clicking the 'eyeball' icon. Refer Figure 2A.

8. There are some important things to bear in mind when uploading your images. These are:

    

• The images are resized at the server to ensure that the correct width of the image is set. The height is scaled correspondingly to ensure the image keeps its proportions. This is very important to understand, if you try and upload your 200 * 100 pixel logo as the header, it will be resized to 949 pixels wide stretching your logo. The results will look poor.

   

• The widths of the graphics are as follows:

      

  • header and footer graphics - 949 pixels wide
  • email header graphic - 600 pixels wide
  • report logo graphic - 120 pixels wide.

 

9. A worked example is the best way to show how you should prepare your graphics prior to upload. We'll look at a Header Graphic. We know that this will be resized to 949 pixels on upload, so we will create a header graphic that is going to be 949 * 80 pixels. Refer figure 3 for our  example logo and figure 4 for our example header.

10. You can see that we have cretaed a graphic 949 * 80 pixels in the Company Livery and then placed the logo on that graphic and saved that as our header graphic.

     

11. If you try and just upload Figure 3 as your header graphic, when you run up Fitech, your header graphic will look something like figure 5 (in Reality, it would look much worse) - definitely not desirable.

12. This process is the same for the footer graphic and the EMail Header Graphic, albeit the Email Header should be 600 pixels wide.
