Subject Level Access

< Back to Working With Subjects TOC

Introduction    N.B. This facility is only available in Australia

  1. Fitech has 4 levels of security. 3 Levels are dedicated to Health Professionals and Administrators whilst one level is available for the subject. When your organisation is set up to use Fitech, by default the ability for subjects to access the portal is set to 'allowed'. It is a simple matter for the organisation administrator to login and edit the properties of the organisation and set Subject Access to be disallowed, see figure 1.

Why Allow Subject Access?

  1. Subject Access provides many benefits to both the organisation and the subject, and is continually being enhanced. Allowing Subjects access to the portal means that they can complete many of the inventories, their personal information and other simple tests in advance of seeing the Health Professional. This saves valuable time for the consultant and means through put is far higher.
  2. Subjects can also use their access to review their past results, keep their information up to date and take a variety of self test surveys.

Points to Note

  1. Like any secure system, in order to login, the subject needs:

  • a username
  • a password

  1. Unless you inform the subject what their username / password combination, they will not know. There is the facility for any user of the system to have their credentials forwarded to their registered email address. Obviously this will only be effective if the subject has an email saved in their record. When a subject is added, for this reason, you should always try and take their email address, otherwise when they want to use the system, they will have to contact an administrator to have one added. Not recording a subject's email could cause a major administration overhead later. Usernames and passwords are created automatically by the system so these are not a concern when adding someone to the system.
