When the administrator or operator creates an Exercise Program, there is an interface which is used to add individual exercises to the overall program. This is a critical interface and serves as the engine for building the program. On first glance it is a very busy interface and could be intimidating to the novice computer user.
This help page will guide you through the interface and explain how it works. Please refer to figure 1 to see how the interface looks.

figure 1 - Exercise Manipulation Interface
The interface is launched into a modal window. This means that the page behind the modal window is disabled and you have to work with the Modal Window until you have either submitted the form or closed the modal window.
| Item |
Description |
| A |
This is the search area. The operator can search for exercises using either free text, or by selecting one or more other options from the drop down lists. These are Category, Mode or Equipment. The search facility uses the 'AND' operator. This means as you introduce more items to filter on, your search results will reduce.
The results of the search appear in the left pane of the interface, where item F is located.
|
| B |
Item B referes to the information icon. By clicking on this icon, you can launch a new modal window showing the exercise in detail. An enlarged picture, full descriptive text etc. |
| C |
Item C is the delete icon. By clicking this icon, you will remove the exercise from the program. |
| D |
Item D is the exercise information area. None of the fields are compulsory. This data appears on the program report. Some of the fields may not be applicable for the exercise, for example Weight would not be relevant for a 'Hamstring Stretch'.
Most of the fields are free text entry - this gives the operator the flexibility to input exactly what he or she wants to see on the report.
|
| E |
Item E shows icons which perform ordering. It is usually important which order exercises are undertaken in an exercise program - with these icons, you can move exercises up and down. |
| F |
Item F is the area which displays the results of a search. Initially, this area is populated with the exercises that appear in the program only. After a search (which yields results) this area will display exercises. To add an exericew to the program, all that is required is to'tick' the check box. This will add the exercise to the bottom of the list on the right side of the interface.
The operator can then move the exercise to the corrcet position and add any required data.
|
Once all the exercises have been added and the necessary data input, simply submit the form to create the finished program.
After creating the program, there are a number of options available to the operator:
- Edit the program (header and exercises)
- Delete the program
- Save the Program as a template.
Note: Ensure you know all about creating and using templates. This dramatically reduces the time it takes to create a program. This means you can very quickly and easily build subject specific exercise programs.
